Honey Whipped Coffee
I have been asked for this whipped coffee recipe and it is simply just the one that went viral on TikTok a few years ago with a few tweaks. So I have written it down and have done some other experimenting for you! I call it my jet fuel because as a low key coffee drinker this gives me way more of a jolt than my occasional cup of coffee. That being said if you are an avid coffee drinker this may be more of a sweet treat rather than a big boost in caffeine.
Classic Whipped Coffee Recipe
1 Tablespoon instant coffee (link to the instant coffee I used is below)
1 Tablespoon honey
1 Tablespoon boiling water
Place all 3 ingredients into your cup of choice (my favorite iced coffee cups are linked below) and use a milk frothier (also linked below) to whip until this mixture is light in color and texture. This will usually take 30-60 seconds. Then add 1-2 cups of the milk of your choice and stir until mixed.
Double the recipe if you need more, but friends that's a lot of coffee! The instant coffee I use say to use 1 tsp per 6oz. I am using 1 Tablespoon, yikes! But the original recipe says to use 2 T so I personally toned it down a bit.
You can drink this iced or you can do it hot. For a hot drink just heat up your milk before mixing.
The original recipe for this uses granulated sugar and it is absolutely delicious this way BUT very sweet. I personally feel better drinking a tablespoon of honey vs. a tablespoon of regular sugar.
- Granulated sugar, both white and organic : Delicious and sweet
- Honey: Absolutely my favorite (and I am not a honey person) Slightly sweet with a touch of honey flavor
- Agave: Slightly sweet, tasted my coconut milk more than anything else
- Maple Syrup: Slightly sweet and not my favorite. I don't believe it blended well with the coconut milk, I typically prefer maple syrup to honey so this one was surprising.
This does also work with no sugar but it will not stay fluffy for more than a couple minutes.
